  • Has anyone ever worked as a lab tech in a lab with primates?

Looking for a temporary job at my school, and the highest paying job (that I qualify for) involves working at the medical school as a lab tech. I've got experience working in a research lab. If anyone has ever worked in a lab with larger mammals (ideally, primates) I'd love to hear from ya. What's it like?

    Thanks.

  • What material should I study for the Analytical Chemistry ACS exam?

My professor hasn't said a word about the final exam and there isn't a study guide for the exam like there is for Organic, so I'm not sure if there's anything I should focus on while studying or if I should just study all of the material we've covered.

    Thanks guys.

  • Could I get some music recommendations?

    Looking to broaden my horizons.

I'm a big fan of ska, but there's only so many good ska bands out there. I'm not a fan of Rap, Country, or most anything that's solely yelling as far as vocals are concerned (about as close to that as I get is Every Time I Die, and even then only a couple songs).

Some favorites (not listing ska bands, if you like ska you know the big names): Ludo, Muse, Panic At The Disco, Pink Spiders, Avenged Sevenfold has some good stuff, Suburban Legends, The Living End, Tiger Army...the list goes on.

    Thanks

    Thanks guys!

  • Where did Islam go wrong?

Let me start by saying I know very little about any of the major monotheistic religions.

I'm taking a class on the Middle East, and the first thing we've done is read a book called the History of God. There is a full chapter for Islam, and I'm baffled by it. The quotes from the Koran all seem to preach tolerance, equality for women, caring for the sick and poor, and that the pursuit of knowledge gets you closer to God, amongst a host of other things that makes Islam sound like a great religion.

Yet these countries with Muslim majorities are the ones with the ethnic cleansing, the public stoning of women and gays, that punish women for learning to read, with terror groups that kill hundreds if not thousands of people every year...the list goes on.

Islam is an integral part of their society and morals, so how did this happen?

I realize the majority of Muslims outside of the Middle East are peaceful and I'm sure appalled by this as well, so I'm speaking specifically about the Middle East and countries that are mostly Muslim.

  • What could cause extremely low FPS on my XPS M1730?

Seemingly out of the blue, I'm getting ridiculously low frames per second while playing games on my XPS M1730. This started a few days ago after having run smoothly for weeks with no problems. Currently running Windows 7.

The only thing that has happened recently is my battery no longer charges, and I've been getting a message while turning on the computer saying as much. Otherwise I've not downloaded anything that would have any effect on my graphics and such.

This lead me to think that the internal network card was off (as it would turn off to conserve battery life when I had XP), however it is most certainly on.

This happens during offline play as well, so it's not my internet connection.

Graphics card drivers are up to date.

I'm not great with computers, so I've effectively exhausted my ideas for how to fix this. If anyone has had a similar problem/has an idea of what could be wrong, I would greatly appreciate your input.

    Thanks for your time.

  • What are some good games to look forward to in the next year or so?

Specifically for the 360 or PC. E3 was alarmingly dull this year, and I haven't heard of anything great coming out for a while.

    Thanks for your help.

  • What are some good songs for a band with a female vocalist to cover?

Guitar, bass, drums, and electric violin, with the possibility for male backup vocals.

  • In Final Fantasy XIII, which weapons/accessories are worth upgrading? Also is it better to dismantle or sell?

Are they all worth upgrading? Or are there certain ones for each person that stand out (Is there a "best" weapon for each person as in previous titles)? I'm in the middle of Disc 2 if that helps.

  • Is it possible to determine one's ancestry (or at least the most probable ancestry) from their looks?

If so, are there any websites out there where I could put in facial features/a picture that would determine where I am most likely descended from?

    Thanks for your help.

  • What martial art is right for me?

I'm 5' 7'', 140 pounds, but rather agile and well balanced.

What I'm looking for is something that focuses on strikes and ways to incapacitate someone to end a fight quickly, sort of the Jackie Chan beat the crap out of someone in a second deal.

Thanks in advance for your answers.
