candle making question?

can you pour hot wax in a glass jar ( baby food jar , or other jars ) with out breaking the glass ?

ok good so far now here is another question .

what is a good place to get scented wax ? or do they make it already mixed ?

    To answer the first question, yes.

    You can pour a hot wax into a glass jar but make sure it is the right type of glass.

    Usually. The trick is to make sure the jar is room temperature or even a little warm (by sitting it in a bowl or pan of warm, not hot, water) and letting the wax cool just a bit before pouring. Then you pour and take the jar out of the warm water and leave it. Fiddling with it is not a good idea at that point.

    What you never want to do is pour hot wax into a cold glass jar. It also helps if the jar is at least as thick as a baby food jar. Some cheap glass vases or jars that they sell at Walmart or craft stores that aren't for candles are paper thin and break easily when pouring, removing, or burning a candle.
