Performance issues with Windows Media Center, could someone help?

I recently upgraded my computer and also my TV tuner card to work with Windows Media Center Vista edition and I would like to get the best performance I possibly can out of it.

The problem is that whenever I open media center it's always slow to load, choppy video and sound and whenever I watch Live TV the video can only just keep up with the audio..........what can i do to improve this? I'm using a Nvidia GeForce FX5200 video card with 128MB of VRAM, also with 1GB of system RAM.

Should I upgrade my video card and RAM or what? thanks for any help

Update:

I'm actually running Windows 7 - Windows Media Center comes with it (basically the same as in vista), should i just upgrade the RAM or just my video card or both?

Obviously 1GB of RAm is not enough to run Vista (I have a computer like that). Or it could the signal from your tv tuner card/antenna. Maybe you should upgrade your RAM.

No issues. i take advantage of the same configuration with out issues. Cable television and Cable information superhighway shuttle on 2 diverse frequency in the same cable. defective splitters and cable wires can lose sign power which could consequence in undesirable service. verify you get the stable splitters and wires.
