I agree with the re-wording.
I had a slightly different understanding of the same question.
Why? Unleaded nozzles are smaller than leaded, and will still fit.

OK, let's try re-wording this sentence. Are you asking why the new fuel pumps won't work on a 1966 Rambler? Probably because a 1966 Rambler was designed to run on leaded fuel, which is no longer available. If it's just a matter of the nozzle fitting the fill hole in the spout, you may have to bore it out, and use a synthetic lead replacement additive available at parts stores.
