Well, it was gradual. Step one was probably in the 20's when industrial giants started abusing citizenry and the US started to invade Latin American countries on behalf of the United Fruit Company. It expanded during the cold war with this crazy hate on for communists. It escalated more with Vietnam. Then GW Bush just plain started pissing on the world. Bush really took it up a big notch and its been hard to like the country ever since he arrived. It is fuelled of course by the Rush Limbaugh's of the world and add in a little game show stupidity to show how ignorant many Americans are of anything outside of their borders (Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?) and you get a clear emerging picture. It won't get any better. Obama is helping but he is also raising the ire of Neo Cons and their rhetoric just makes the country look worse.

Bush began issues in Afghanistan - no longer Obama.
