Breaking News--Jorge Posada reportedly get 4 game suspension & $30,000 fine for last nights fight...Fair?

So this is the latest on the Posada/Yankees vs. Carlson/Blue Jays fight. Just recieved word on Jorge Posada's punishment. Do you think this is fair? And does anyone know anything about Carlson's punishment?

Update:

Wow Rodger--even I think that's kinda tough haha...50 games?

Update 2:

whoops i meant "gets" not "get"...oops! =P

Update 3:

UPDATE---Posada's suspension was reportedly reduced to 3 games, which he will begin serving tonight.

Update 4:

Another oops---The fine was 3,000 dollars not 30,000. It's not that big of a differance though, right? (haha jk) The text I recieved read $30,000 fine, so that's the source I had for my question!

i think it was fair. however i have seen a bunch of bull around the internet saying it was Posada who started it. Yankees pitching staff hit the 2 blue jays; not Posada. For me and Carlson positioned himself @ home plate to get clobbered. (wrong place, wrong time) He should have been covering 1rst. Bad thing to happen; but I thought I would clear all that up!

Carlson was fined for the same amount of money and got a 3-game suspension. I think that's fair. I thought both players were to blame, and Posada DID start the physical stuff by elbowing Carlson.

By the way.. he was fined three thousand dollars, not thirty thousand.

Yeah, that's fair. He'll appeal and possibly have it reduced to three games. Good chance for Jorge to get some rest before the playoffs.

And Roger...you don't think it was started by the Yankees hitting two Blue Jays after they gave up all those Home Runs?

His punishment is fair. I am a Yankee Fan but I think he should be fined and suspended and Carlson got the same punishment. Shelley Duncan got suspended 3 games also

whoa! if it was 30 grand, thats just really bias by the commisonor. If Posada got that suspension, so should Carlson

Yeah it's fair he's the one that started the brawl and he should be suspended for it. It's not like him missing 4 games will affect the Yankees' chances at the postseason. They have a 6.5 game lead over Boston and are basically a lock for the playoffs so they have nothing to worry about.

I figured 3-5 games , but 30 grand? wow! good thing they're paid well. Fair ,probably not but he was made an example of because he's a Yankee.

His punishment is very fair, he should have walked away to begin with.

MLB is trying to set an example to keep a lid on this type of behavior.

  • It's fair, but I think Carson should also get the same punishment since they both did something wrong.

  • I think ha should have been suspended for 5 games not 4, and had to pay $45,000 in cash because of the brawl.
