I am in a gospel singing group. The group is hostile to and I need help. I know God wants me to sing.?
I get lots of compliments singing lead. I am also told that my movement while singing is great. Overall, I am not happy because the group members are not being nice to me. I know God wants me to sing. I just don't know how much more I can take of the put downs and being disrespected. I asked one of the women to back up off of me. This did not go very well. I did talk to her later and we made up. The remainder of the group was not happy and gave me negative feedback. I am also a minster and I am using humbleness. I have asked the group to stop it. I believe the devil is using them to cause confusion and to create a hostile environment so I will leave. I did not go to practice on Monday. I am so sick and tired of the foolishness. I know that God is not pleased with what is taking place. No matter what I will continue to sing. I just won't sing with this group if this continues. I have talked to the coordinator and she can't see the problem. I need ways in which to handle this.

You're wise enough to realize that backbiters are often motivated by envy, but some of your fellow singers might actually have constructive criticism to share. Listen to their complaints. They might help improve your performance.
But don't quit. Let the others leave, if they're dissatisfied. Treat them as you would like to be treated and sing your heart out.

I think your best answer is to find another group. If singing is what you're meant to do, then do it, but don't subject yourself to that. Some might say that God has placed a challenge before you to help these people see the error of their ways, but it sounds like you have tried to no avail. They may go to church, but going to church does not make one a Christian. If they followed the example of Jesus, they would not put you down. They have much to learn in their own right, I believe, and have no room for judgment.

Slip in little subliminal messages about the people being mean to you while you are singing. Like, quickly mumble "Janes a jerk" in the middle of a long note or something. It will work, trust me.

If they all have a problem with you maybe you should look at yourself.
