Is it ok to wash and color my hair on the same day?

You've gotten many answers from non professionals... I have been doing hair for 15 years. The directions for haircolor usually say to apply the product to dry unwashed hair. The reason for this is so that the natural oils from your scalp can buffer the chemicals that will touch it. It is better to color unwashed hair but it isn't impossible to color clean hair either. If your scalp is at all sensitive, I'd wait a day. If you've colored before without a problem go ahead and color it while it's clean. The comment about the color lasting longer if the hair is unwashed for a few days is completely unfounded. On the contrary, if the hair is very dirty and has buildup of styling products on it the color will not penetrate as it should and would fade faster. Good luck!

No, don't wash your hair the same day that you color it. Let it rest for a day. You will need to rinse out the color really good, this should be enough to clean the hair and scalp. Usually, you wash it (no conditioner) the day before you color it.

I have dyed my hair MULTIPLE times.
don't wash your hair like 2 days before you dye it and it will make the dye last longer, but after you color your hair, when it is time to rinse it out, wash it (use shampoo and conditioner), or else it will make the dye run (you will get dye leaking out of your hair)
trust me this is the best way to dye your hair

you can do it but its bad idea. if you wait to wash it, the dye wont wreck your hair as bad. you hair has natural oils in it and helps your hair protect itself during the coloring process. if you was it before, you strip the hair of those oils and leave it vunerable for more damage.
