Haha, My dog is sleeping and I guess dreaming?

His eyeballs were going side to side rapidly. When I petted him all he did was wag his tail. He is 3 years old.

Update:

He is sleeping and all of a sudden he started whinning and then barking. I petted him, which usually he'll wake up, but he didn't. Is that normal? I've never seen that happen before. It's cute and sweet but I'm making sure it's nothing serious.

Update 2:

haha i guess it is normal. this is exactly what he was doing.

Having a dream and their eyes can be open when they sleep sometimes. My dog whines and sometimes scratches the side of the wall with her feet. I say, quit it and she wakes up and starts again in about 15 minutes. Hillarous.

My dog whines, barks quietly, and his arms/legs twitch when he dreams. His little toes even spread themselves out sporadically. It's the cutest/funniest thing. But yeah, it's pretty normal.

our eyes move side to side rapidly when us humans close our eyes, which is why we can sort of feel our eyelids have a vibrate-like-sensation
