Buying a laptop without Vista.?

Afraid of Vista? DONT be misled by the gossip! Most of Vistas problems were due to people buying it and installing it on inferior systems. People simply DONT read the requirements on software boxes. Vista is beautiful. Mine runs flawlessly, has features XP didnt have, and last but not least, runs most all of my software including old win95 apps that XP wouldnt. If you still insist on something other than Vista, you will either need to buy a copy of XP, download 7, or wait til microsoft comes out with 7 pre-installed

You may have to go used or something off eBay for that. It's difficult to find a new laptop or desktop nowadays without Vista on it. I can't stand Vista personally. Have one custom built or buy used/refurbished. Good luck!

Good luck. Try buying a any computer without an operating system installed at all, especially a laptop.

I'm thinking of buying a new one myself, and then demanding a refund from the vendor or Microsoft for the copy of Windows I never intend to use.

you can get most laptops with vista on them and request in the shop for a xp downgrade according to vista's terms and conditions you have the right and a license to downgrade to vista so most brands like Lenovo, Sony, etc. send their laptops with a windows xp downgrade CD.!

tigerdirect and buy.com have laptops that still have xp on them, but vista isn't so bad to get at this point since in october windows 7 is coming out anyway and you get a free update, i hate vista too but i'm putting up with it till october 22nd? i think

go to hp or sony site u ll find plenty of laptops with ur specification

dosent matter, i bought my computer with vista pre-installed and installed xp with no problems

compaq are good. just got one yesterday and is amazing for only £450
