MotoGP: Rossi talks ................?

............. but will Dorna listern ???

you really have to think that when the G.O.A.T say's the 800's are a bad idea, then maybe you should eat humble pie.

One of the biggest points I read is the sat teams have never won.

That really is not good for the sport.

The problem with the 800 cc decision, is not about is better of worse for racing. The problem was that the change decision was extremely expensive for every team and make in the category, and it didn't serve the aim of slowing down the bikes. Top speeds and corner speeds are faster almost everywhere. So millions of euros were spent on vain. The aim to slow down the machines could be achieved by regulation. You can change the rules and test how they work, but the whole engine development for each make was extremely expensive, and it also ended the chances for privateers and potential newcomers.

The other factor was the massive introduction of electronics. There's no really a fair comparison between 990 and 800 since the 800 era was born with much more electronics in its DNA. Traction control, launch control and so on has evolved dramatically the last couple of years.

I agree with the Doctor this was a bad idea because it was unnecessarily expensive, and it didn't worked as expected, but I believe the 800's offer good racing .

I have to disagree with him. the 800s are great. they just need the time that the 990s were given. its only after the fact that we find out what actually went on during the 990 era. the development that was ongoing all through that time was unbelievable. Im sure the same is true now with the 800s.

Vale's days are numbered and he knows it. maybe he is just looking for a way out when things get tougher than they are now. He may still be winning - but its not by much. and with any luck Casey will be back fit and well, HRC will get their act together, and Ben will come and spoil the party for the lot of them. The 990s didnt get this close. or did they ? Cant remember them already. bring on the 1000s.

@ Marc C didnt you see Nicky in that last race. Getting to grips with the Red Beast.

@Nascaris.. when nicky won - was the championship held over one race that year ? I seem to remember Dani taking Nicky out somewhere along the line. Casey winning on bridgestones is the whole point of prototype racing. someone gains an advantage over the rest.

Its giving the rest, equal machinery to Rossi when we see a different Rossi. The sat teams are down to the factories not supplying the parts for the other riders. which begs the question how many people on the grid can realistically compete with Rossi. at the present time I would say the usual suspects. and even then only Lorenzo "if" he gets the promised upgrades at the same time as Rossi.

@proc: the fact that vale is still winning attests to his immense talent (and factory support on one of the best bikes in the GP). competition will always get better with every season, and he's beating the competition almost every year. casey beat him because he had bridgestones. nicky beat him because vale crashed out. i don't like that the sat teams have never won. i look forward to next season, spies should make a few podiums with tech 3 hopefully.

i don't mind 800s, i just want everyone to get a fair shot at a win.

I miss seeing those bikes go sideways out of the corners with smoke coming off the back wheel i dont see any riders do it now.
