Need info on Marine corp pilots?
I want to be a pilot via Kent State. I am considering an ROTC for college but will move from reserve to active for sake of a shorter service length. Now my question is as far as becoming a pilot in the marine corpI heard of this " Marines will guarantee a pilot slot" is this true. and if so how do I obtain it. As far as jet vs Helo I peerfer jet but dont care either way. and what are the minimum service length of a Marine pilot (Active and or reserves). And any idea of Marine ROTC colleges? Any help on the confusion?

"shorter term of service". You realize that you'll graduate, be commissioned, go to TBS for 6 months, wait around for flight school, go there for two years, get your wings, and THEN the 8-10 years guaranteed active begins. You'll be active for well over 10 years, no ifs ands or buts.
And its NROTC, not Marine ROTC. NavAL ROTC
You're going to need to get a damn high GPA, they only guarantee spots to flight school if you can get commissioned. That's because most people who just want to fly don't want to go through 6 weeks of hell (OCS) and 6 months of TBS before THINKING about flying. Anyway, get a great GPA in college as well as be in OUTSTANDING shape (20 dead hang pull ups, 100 sit ups in two minutes, and an under 20 minute three mile run) and you'll get in. The Marines are VERY selective as to who their officers are.
