I want to be a corporate jet pilot?
I am going to college at Kent State to be a pilot preferably corporate. Now what are my chances of getting a job out of college? What if I do helicopters such as stat medevac

Personally when I have looked into it I would choose an airplane because it has a wider spectrum of jobs that can pay more in the end (tons of commercial and tons of private). However, it may take a few years to achieve that high payroll (helicopters are the same but less years building up it and slightly final income) Helicopter pilots are only small group of privates and tours (like in Hawaii).
I still suggest that you look into this yourself and ask the correct professionals. (So do not take my word for it)

Sorry, but your chance of getting a corporate flying job right out of college are the same as getting a major airline job: zero. Just from an insurance standpoint alone, it requires a minimum of several years professional flying experience before you would be considered hireable. It's pretty much the same with flying medevac helicopters. Fresh graduates from flying school / college are not eligible because they lack experience. Everyone has to "pay their dues" in aviation before the good flying jobs are attainable. That's how the real world works, unless your dad either owns the company or you know someone in very high places who can pull strings for you. Even then, the insurance companies still call the shots as far as minimum pilot qualifications, which are much higher than the legal minimums.

Its mostly about who you know. Keep contacts of people you know and meet. Keep up with them. That is how corporate jobs are created and passed along. I was lucky enough to impress a new aircraft owner on some training flights. He hired me to initially fly a single engine piston. I started a company flight department for him. Within 3 years I am now captain on a Citation, Beechjet, and a twin Turboprop.
First off: GET MULTI TIME Do this by almost any means possble. Instructing, right seat goon on piston twin cargo flights...whatever it takes.. dont end up flying single engine pistons forever, they will end up being a waste of time eventually since it is not the quality time you will need to fly corporate jets.
2nd: Get Twin Turbine Time (Pilatus time is almost worthless if you want to fly a twin jet). Turboprop or Jet, it is all turbine time
3rd: Get Twin Turbine PIC
The trick is doing it all as quickly as possible. Find a regional airline or charter that will upgrade you to CAPTAIN the quickest. Apply for food stamps.
