Don't you hate Utility cos.?

They write the rules, or should we say politicians do for them, & if you break the rules they created, you have to pay them a fine (late fees, disconnect deposits, reconnect fees - u name it.)

I believe you may have stumbled across the alternate meaning of the word, "regulated".

"Cap and trade" will cause a plethora of new and expensive government approved fees and charges which the government will be forced to approve to keep the power flowing.

At least, they don't call it a tax, right?

It took a hundred years to get the government induced "fee" dropped from every phone bill placed there by the government to pay for the the Spanish-American War.

The name has changed but the game remains the same.

Ever wonder why private companies are called "public" utilities?

You betcha.. Little town in Tex charges as if we living in multi-million dollar mansions or something. It's ridiculous paying over three hundred dollars for electricity when your house is only 940 sq ft.

In Lakeland Florida we have to pay 72.00 fuel service charge for the electric company to run their trucks around town that is added to our bill.
