How much money do you spend on your childs Scholastic book order from school?

My preschooler just brought home her first book order form and I was really excited because I remember loving these as a child. Now I am trying to decide how much money I should spend. Her class gets credit towards books when parents buy but they will be getting one every month. Just trying to figure out how much moms usually spend on these? Thanks for your help!

I would think your order would vary from month to month as there would be more things you like in one order than in another. If you are getting new books every month then you aren't going to want to get too many each month. I would choose 2 or 3 that your child will really enjoy. Most children like to hear the same story over and over so more than that and you won't have time to read them as much as your child would wish.

    Good Luck!

Do what my mom did (way back in the day). Pick 2 or 3 books of all the ones I selected on the list and just buy those.

I also limit myself to about $10. They should be able to get a book or two they will enjoy, and it won't break you, so you can order from the next form. My kids love getting their books. It gets them excited about reading.

I like supporting school. My daughter loves to read and she's in 6th Grade now. I let her choose the books that she likes to read. I usually spend between $6-$15. It's all worth it and it benefit both the child and school then you may donate it later on so it also benefit others.

This is where Goodwill comes in handy. Cheaper there.
