110 flex over kill for a wrist shot?

I have an easton synergy 100 flex right now. Its seen better days, and im looking for a new stick (probably the s17) and im considering a 110 flex.

I have people telling me that is over kill for a wrist shot, and i rarely take slap shots, outside of practice (not consistent enough).

Right now my synergy is a 100 flex, and im not sure how much of the flex is because its whipped out, or because im putting more load on the shots.

Other information:

Im 225lbs, play D. Play in a mens league. Have one of the harder wrist shots in the tier i play in.

Update:

yeah my backup was a 85, every time i go to load up the stick bends WAY to much and ends up sliding out of position.

If you are 225 lbs and play defence I am not surprised your 85 flex stick bends too much!

I would definitely go with the 110 flex stick, It may seem a little too stiff at first, but after you get used to the stick, you will be reeking the benefits in the long run.

For one with a stiffer stick you will get much more use out of it before you need to replace it.

Also you can get much more power in your shot with a stiffer stick, just as long as you're strong enough to use it, and seeing as you're tipping the scales at 225 I assume you are.

for wrist shots yeah, 110 is overkill. stay with the 100

Source(s): I weigh about 160 and use a 100, mostly wrist shots and backhands. Been told I should use an 85 but last time I did it broke in no time ..
