Army Physical Fitness Uniform personal use?
I enlisted in the Maryland Army National Guard and I was issued a Army Tracksuit for PT.
I have not gone to basic or AIT and I am still going to RSP drills until January.
I want to use the Army Tracksuit for running in my neighborhood as it is getting cold soon and I do not have any other cold running attire.
Is there any law/military regulation that says that I cannot use that issued Army track suit for running in Public because If I can use the tracksuit that was issued to me it would be more convenient as I do not want to spend money on a tracksuit myself.
I am asking because there are some regulations (like for the USMC Marpat uniform) that you cannot wear in public.

14–4. Occasions for wear
The PFU and the IPFU are authorized for wear on and off duty, on and off the installation, when authorized by the
commander. Soldiers may wear all or part of the PFU or IPFU with civilian attire off the installation, when authorized
by the commander.

I'm sure he already owns a couple of these. It's the official Army Physical Fitness Uniform t-shirt. But I'm sure he will appreciate it regardless. You can never have too many of them. And contrary to the opinion of some, many Soldiers DO like getting Army apparel.

No, the Army is a little more relaxed when it comes to wearing uniforms in public.
The PT uniform is designed for PT. Quit a few Soldiers wear the pt uniform off post when conducting PT on their own. As long as you take the appropriate safety precautions like reflective belt/no head phones then you should be ok.

Unlike other uniform apparel, the APFT shirt in not only allowed to be worn off duty, it was encouraged by the SMA a few years back. This may be a hard pill for some of us old timers to swallow, but it is a recruitment gimmick. As long as the shirt is serviceable (no holes or tears) and not altered (i.e. a big red circle and line over the "ARMY") then you may wear it off duty with the rest of your civilian clothes.

All or part of the PFU or IPFU may be mixed with civilian attire, as well.
Not what you're asking, but still relevant and often yelled at for.

As the first answer said which is correct, just don't wear it anywhere but to and from PT, don't wear it to the club, or to the supermarket, places like that. Unless your on a military base.

Yes. Under regulation, as long as you are using it for its intended purpose and wearing it in accordance with standards you are authorized.
