Relocating to Nashville area?

Might relocate to Nashville in 2011, plan on visiting next year, want to live in a decent area, purchase a home for $100K or less, nice schools, willing to go Christian-private, wouldn't mind a mixed neighborhood, at least 30% african american, could little in a little burg near NVille, population about 30K. Any suggestions.

Unfortunately, as reasonably priced as homes are in this area compared to the national average, you are unlikely to find much for under 100K, especially in Nashville proper. And in most of the smaller towns surrounding the city, there is nowhere close to a 30% African American population- hardly even what you would call a "mixed"neighborhood. On a brighter note, Nashville and it's surrounding communities is a GREAT place to live and raise kids. My 3 generational family (I'm the grandma) moved here 8 1/2 years ago, moved to Sumner County (20 mile north of Nashville) and LOVE it!!!! We have the 2nd best public schools in middle TN (Williamson County wins that, but is MUCH too expensive) and plenty of private schools. We're Jewish, so I don't know much about the Christian schools.... but if you want to be in a minority here, be Jewish!!!! Anyway, there is not much diversity here, but it's getting a little better. My granddaughter is Bi-racial and has never had a problem and there are always 1 or 2 other Black kids in her classes- not many, I know, but my 3 grandkids are the ONLY ones in their classes who celebrate Chanukah rather than Christmas and have to miss school days for holidays that aren't on school calenders. There are just under 50K people here in Hendersonville. There are great parks, shopping, library, medical care, restaurants, etc. here as well as the great schools. Homes can be found for under 200K and condos for less. Check out www.crye-leike.com where you can check out homes without signing up for anything. Gallatin is also in Sumner County and there are homes for less there, but the schools aren't as good and there is more crime, whereas there is almost none in Hendersonville. There are only about 28K people in Gallatin. Anyway.... off to work with me- if you have any other questions I could answer feel free to email me through my profile on Yahoo Answers. Good Luck!

i think of the extra useful question is why are you shifting here? Are you yet another a sort of united states of america wannabes from the northeast or California? haha i might easily get a reliable paying pastime previously I left for Nashville. a lot of human beings come here attempting to make it and finally end up working for pennies on the community TGI Fridays. Nashvile track industry isn't basic to get into. i'm uncertain why you will possibly desire to head to and fro half-hour into the "Metro section" as that would positioned you way outdoors of Nashville and contained in the agricultural factors of small mountains going out in some instructions of the metro section. Nashville isn't a super city and is plenty smaller than Chicago or L.A....its extra like a Sacramento or Buffalo in terms of inhabitants length. Its additionally plenty less warm than L.A. and it snows particularly much each and every iciness. in case you particularly need to stay 30 min outdoors of the Nashville-Franklin Metropolitan section i might attempt Shelbyville, Clarksville, and Franklin, KY. as quickly as lower back, uncertain why you will possibly desire to stay 30 min outdoors of the metro section. .
