Really hard math riddle.?

This is for extra credit that I really need.

A blue house on a carousel rises 1 and a half feet and falls back down again exactly 8 times for each time the carousel goes around once, If the horse begins rising just when the carousel starts, how high will it be when the carousel is 2/3 of the way around, and will it be going up or down?

If you know how to do this can you please explain. THANKS :)

One revolution of the carousel goes through 360 º

If the horse rises and falls 8 times per revolution, then every 45 º the horse rises and falls one time !

2/3 of the way around is 240 º

    That is 15 º into a 45 º cycle

    15/22.5 = 2/3

The horse is rising at 2/3 of 1 and 1/2 feet. The horse is 1 foot in the air !

this is the only way i could think of to solve this so don't shoot me if it's wrong, lolz...

if it happens 8 times, then i'd get the 2/3 of 8

    2/3 x 8 = 16/3 = 5.33 of 8

I'll split 5 and .33, since the 5 is for the other rising and falling of the horse

At this time of the rotation, the horse is at .33 of the cycle (which means it's just rising since it's below 50%, which is the halfway)

1 and a half feet up and 1 and a half feet down, indicates 36 inches in all

    So I'll multiply .33 to 36 inches

    .33 x 36 = 11.88 inches

*I don't know if I explained that well, but I'll bet on 11.88 inches, rising

    goodluck
