Will a concrete counter top be good for a garage work table?
I like the look of the concrete and it seems simple to do and seems to be a good price. I just wonder if I start to hammer on it will it crack. I dont plan on putting a 20 pound sledge to it but if im tapping on something with a hammer is it gonna chip will the corners be vulnerable for if im carrying like sheet of plywood and bump into it.

Sounds sturdy, but you have valid concerns. Check with home improvement centers or call sounter manufacturers. Roxanne

If you put underlayment on top of the concrete, it will absorb most of the impact of day to day work. Its tough, its dense and will outlast plywood or chipboard 10 times over

just put metal angles around and you still can put a piece of wood as protection
