Can a hard drive raid array be moved to another motherboard without redoing the raid and losing data?
Considering raid 0 and 10...
Is there any way to determine if a new board has the same controller chip? Or is there some sort of compatibility information I could find? I don't want to have to reinstall everything every time I update my system which I frequently change. Also if my mother board was to fail I don't want to loose all my information.

Possibly, possibly not. It depends on many factors. If you use an external disk controller which is handling the RAID there should no issue. However if you are using the on-mobo controller things are much less predictable. It depends on the BIOS, controller chip and possibly a few other factors. If you go for the same model mobo there should be no issues but I wouldn't guarantee it in other situations.
