How do I upload photos from a Canon Powershot without software?
Hi - I'm borrowing a Canon PowerShot camera and using it with a library PC (Dell). I have the USB cable plugged into both ends. I get the popup informing me that new hardware has been installed, and the Device Manager shows the camera as working correctly, but I can't find any way to access the photos, and the camera doesn't appear under My Computer. Any suggestions?

BUT, Library machines have so much NetNanny stuff on them that they might block access to USB drives.
Possibly admin access to the machines is needed, and if so, good luck with the ladies at the front desk. They'll look at you like a porn pervert.

you shouldn't need the cd. do you have win XP? plug the camera in again and see if the pc detects it.
