how to i get hd on my tv for my xbox?
i have a 19 inch dynex from best buy that has hdmi and i bought my xbox in i think 2006 or 2007 im pretty sure it was 2006 but how do i turn on hdmi and do i need any extra cords

If your XBOX doesn't have an HDMI port under your standard AV connection then HDMI isn't built-in.
That said, you could simply replace your standard YELLOW / RED / WHITE AV cable with a dual use cable:
Y/R/W and R/G/B with R/W. Trust me the Red Green Blue transmits 1080p just fine.
