Further evidence that the Flood did not happen?

If primates like chimps are "unclean" then only one pair of them would have been taken on the Ark while there were 4 human couples. This means that we should find that the chimp's genetic diversity should be far more homogeneous than humans. It also means that "clean" animals should should be genetically more diverse than "unclean" animals.

We know this is not the case for humans and chimps. What does this say about the Flood myth?

    So go write a thesis

  • There are multiple flood stories from that region, which suggests that there was some great cataclysmic event on a scale that may well have felt like it encompassed the entire world. Folks back then didn't understand complex weather patterns, so these otherwise inexplicable, traumatic and devastating events were given supernatural explanations.

Btw, the story in Torah has two pairs each of the unclean (not for food) animals. The human couples was one family and their spouses, so genetically speaking the diversity should be similar. Your hypothesis here is a red herring, but it also fails to stand up scientifically.

Strange how the folks who wish to debunk sacred texts are amongst those who insist on taking it most literally.

It means that Noah probably had sex with a monkey. Hey, 40 days and 40 nights is a long time to be cooped up out at sea. People do strange things...

Or was it 150 days? I forget. Those bible passages are so confusing sometimes. But I'm sure that it's one or the other. I mean, no one would be stupid enough to write a book and claim it's the infallible word of God with such a blatant contradiction, right? That would just be silly.

The flood myth was adapted from earlier stories of a "great flood"

Since every civilization has experienced flooding on a grand scale it stands to reason that their religions would contain references to those events

  • I have evidence the flood did happen. I live in Atlanta dammit, and Six Flags was under water.

Further evidence has not been needed for well over 200 years. James Hutton pretty much took care of it in 1785, and Creationists have not been able to overcome the basics he laid down at that time.

Well there's a ark shaped mountain close Eygpt so wouldn't that be evidence

Noah took at least 2 of every animal.
