a lot of the time the boards squeek because they were not installed properly or they've slid off of the joysts. Look under the floor from the basement and add some nails to support the floor better.
Also you can use baby powder too maybe the wood is just dry.
Good luck

Easiest way -- use screws. Basically squeaky floor board are caused by crappy design in the first place, so just put in screws wherever the squeaks are. My wife's father was being driven mad by the same thing and one day very early in the morning they were awaken to their dad who had ripped up the carpet and was walking around drilling screws all over the place... aaah, peace and quiet. They grew up in a country that didn't have floor boards, basically all buildings are concrete where they're from, ha ha.

you do it very carefully ..if you don't know what your doing then get a professional ..this is advise for the uk ...im a builder ..over 40 years ...under the floor there are both heating pipes and electric cables ..normally the electrics are drilled through the centre of joist so you are ok ...but you would be amazed how many are on top of joist ..all heating pipes are normally in a slot cut out from joist ..very very easy to put a nail through a pipe so extreme caution ....if you have carpet lift it and look for cut boards ..these are signs of a plumbers work ..what i do is screw the screws as close to existing nails as possible do not use more than a2.1/2" screw

Squeaky floorboards are caused by the floorboards moving against each other or the joists. To stop this, immobilize them by whatever means you see fit. In cases where carpet covers them, then find the joist where it squeaks, and put a screw through the floorboard into the joist. Then break off the head of the screw as low as you possibly can, if possible even below the surface of the padding, and pull the carpet and padding up to cover. Otherwise you'll probably need access to the underside to immobilize the floorboards.

You have some good answers here. Baby powder or talcum powder is a temporary fix in many cases. It doesn't stop the floorboards from moving but it will lubricate them so they don't squeak.

Try to lift the flooring where the underlay meets the floor joist, then use screws to refasten the flooring. One of the leading causes of squeaky floorboards are the original nails working loose. This should solve the problem.
