How does this system sound for an upgrade?
Here's my current system:
Antec case (similar to the Atlas 550)
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy
Sony DVD+/-RW
PNY Verto GeForce 5200 (might be upgrading soon, fan went out)
2GB RAM
ASUS A7V600-X
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton 1.833GHz
And I'm upgrading to:
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz
2 GB RAM (Maybe 4, depeding on pricing)
Keeping the same case, floppy drive, dvd burner. I am considering the Antec Mini P180, but it uses micro ATX boards, so I'd have to choose another board also. I think ASUS makes a micro version of this board. I just don't like cases that are huge when they don't seem necessary.
I'll be running Windows XP for now until I can justify paying for Windows 7. I have a MacBook as my daily computer, but this is sort of a hobby...and I'm getting bored.

The 4gb of RAM will definitely be helpful if you do decide to upgrade to Windows 7 down the road and will also allow you greater flexibility with the amount of programs you have running at the same time. If price is an issue here are some examples of fairly inexpensive items:
