Computer security experts please help. Was my flash drive hacked, or is there another possible reason for....?
I have a secured wireless router on DSL, and have Norton Internet security on, and have Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
The computer was idle, but was on and connected to the internet, with the flash drive in it.
Then I noticed the light on the flash drive was blinking as it usually does when I use it, but I was not doing anything on the computer. The drive has sensitive information on it.
I fear that someone could have accessed my computer and was browsing my files. Is there any other explanation of what may have been going on?
The drive seems OK and I can find nothing altered in the files.
The only recent changes to the computer is that I installed a MagicJack, (phone accessory) and a program called MediaRing Talk, which required changes to the registry, and restart.
Is there any way to determine if any of the files were accessed?
I right clicked the drive and looked at "properties" and it indicated when the files were created, but "properties" does not indicate "Last accessed".
Are there any log files I can look at in the computer see if anything was opened on this drive?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

You can view other dates relating to files in Windows Explorer by selecting other columns. Do this:
1. In any directory in Windows Explorer, right-click on any column header. A mini-menu will appear showing the columns currently selected and other not selected. You can check any of them to select them.
2. Further, there's a More selection, which will give you an even larger selection of columns. Not all apply to all files.
3. Look down in the "Date ..." area, in particular, Date Accessed and Date Last Saved.
Note that these extra columns are on a directory-by-directory basis, and that the columns can be rearranged for readability.
In another vein, though, look in the root directory of the flash drive for an .inf-type file. These can be malware, and can actually infect another machine as soon as the drive is inserted into a USB slot. They're very insidious.
Scanning them with anti-malware may help detect them, but I doubt deleting them by hand will be effective. The underlying malware would have to be cleaned up first.
Hope that helps.

you may not circulate utility directly with a flashpersistent. What you're able to desire to repeat are the unique setting up archives, in compressed format. they could be downloaded for loose from internet each and every often times, that's positive. Or they could be copied from an unique cd, that's against the regulation. you may then get right of entry to them from the different laptop and set up them back.
