i saw an old woman fall today...?

i was on the outside register of the place i work at and there was like a bus of elderly people who were shopping and then getting ready to go back on the bus and while they were walking in, i heard a really loud BOOM and was in complete shock. This woman fell down, not even sloped down, just literally fell backwards in one motion. She was breathing and the ambulance came but im still horrified by this. It was probably the scariest thing. My eyes started to tear up. it was so awful to have watched this, i couldnt imagine how the lady felt and i keep thinking to myself, i could have like been behind her and saved her. Its just an awful feeling.

Have you had a bad experience like this? I hope this poor lady is doing okay.

Yes, I've had a bad experience that was worse than this. I was stopped at a red light at a big intersection. I was waiting to make a right turn so I'd pulled out into the pedestrian walk a little to see oncoming traffic. There was a small boy on the far side of the intersection waiting to cross the street. When the walk sign went on he began to cross. A couple of jerks in a jeep came barreling down to the intersection, turned right and hit the boy. He went flying and landed crumpled in the street. People came out to look but no one went to the boy to check him over. Since I'd had multiple first aid classes, I turned off my car and went over to him. I'd never had to use my first aid training for anything this bad before. He wasn't responsive, wasn't breathing and had no pulse. I began CPR just as I heard the first sirens. In a couple of minutes the paramedics took over. I was haunted by the picture of that poor boy lying in the street. I imagined his mom waiting for him at home. By evening when I couldn't stand wondering what had happened to him, I called the police station and asked about him. He had died. I cried for him and his family but at least I knew and it helped me reach closure. If you're still wondering about the women, find out where the group was from and call them or call the paramedics or whoever came to her aid and ask. It'll help bring closure for you.

btw, the elderly often have balance problems due to inner ear deterioration or to the medication they're taking. They can sometimes have transient (temporary) ischemic attacks in which the blood supply to a part of the brain is cut off. There are many reasons why the woman might have fallen over. If she was breathing, etc., I'm guessing she's OK.

There was nothing you could do. Most of us aren't expecting these kinds of things so when they happen we just stand there staring...and then feel just like you're feeling: like we should've done something. Our reaction shows that we were raised right, that we were raised to care and that's a very good thing.

    Hi Jill

The lady wouldn't have felt a thing as she was unconscious. You are feeling her pain that she was unaware of.

I'm an old lady and was walking my dog round the field. The sun was shining, the birds were singing everything felt perfect - then I tripped over a concealed post. I wasn't unconscious and felt an absolute idiot. I lay in the grass anxious to ensure no-one had see me fall. Then I noticed my throbbing and swelling wrist. This was of second consideration to my embarrassment

The lady you saw fall was with others who cared for her. You had an adrenaline buzz but froze as you didn't know what to do. Why don't you take up first aid classes? The training is really interesting and even if you never have to use this training you can watch others in their care and appreciate their skills.

I hope this helps. Good luck and best wishes.

I'm sorry you witnessed that- it is very disturbing and scary. A year or so before my mom died, she had been in intensive care and then regular care for heart/lung problems. About a week after she got out of the hospital we went out to lunch. After we finished eating, I went to get the car so I could pick her up in front of the restaurant. As I was pulling up, I was watching her come out the door of the restaurant and across the sidewalk. When she went to step down from the curb, she fell over backwards and I remember the back of her head hitting the sidewalk so hard it bounced up. I don't think I even stopped the car- I just jumped out and ran to her. A bunch of the people who were waiting out front to be seated ran to help her also. She was fine- just embarrassed and a little shaken, but I drove her straight to the emergency room anyway. Thank God she was OK, but I wouldn't go back home (I lived about two hours away from her, and my dad is dead), until we got a private nurse to be with her. I was scared to death. It really is an awful thing to see.

I have observed particularly the reverse of the whole thing you've gotten stated to be precise Jesus stated he's Lord of the sabbath - Old testomony command - Christians say that the Lords day is Sunday - I generally paintings all day on Sunday given that it's not the sabbath Jesus stated now not one jot or tittle shall move from the regulation until ALL be fulfilled - I recognize for certain that Zech 14 hasn't been as good as approximately one million/three of the relaxation of the ancient testomony - Christians throw out some thing factor they do not desire to comply with It has not ever been flawed to do well at the sabbath - what was once flawed was once the translation of the fake devout leaders of his day. Jesus didn't let us know now not to pass judgement on each and every different in Reference to the prostitute however comfortably refused to pass judgement on her in step with the regulation which state If a person and lady are stuck in adultery you convey BOTH OF THEM BEFORE THE PRIESTS. wherein was once the person? - Christians make judgments through look always. Jesus once more was once declaring to not deliver lengthy prayers to be obvious through guys.... it has not anything to do with a prohibition in opposition to public prayer. No Your buddy isn't proper ... the traditions of guys have changed the phrases of Jesus. Jesus simplest spoke his Fathers phrases ... You recognize... Like the ancient testomony.

Don't be so hard on yourself. The old lady would probably love to know that you are so worried about her because a lot of people (not me, there are just some really immature people out there) would laugh at her. Your sweet and theres nothing you couldve done, you didnt know she was going to fall.
