computer help? Big time!?
okay so the problem is that when ever I start up the computer I get a screen saying "Boot from CD: failed press enter to continue." So I get a Debian OS CD and put it in (because I lost my system recovery disk) and the damn computer isn't recognizing my hard disk and it can't partition the hard drive either. Then I put in another OS disk and that won't work either it says: "Boot from CD failed" or something like that.
Please can some one help.
I have xp

Sounds like your CMOS is booting from the CD as a first priority, if no disc is in you will have to press enter to continue. Are you wanting to change the boot order?? What is your OS? There are quite a few sites where you can download a boot disc for your pc... not sure where to send you to since I don't know what you're running.

I'm no expert at this.
But while your computer is booting up try logging F8 a bunch of times to prompt your BIOS and then select the hard drive with your OS on it.
If you want to boot into your CD, maybe there's a problem with your CD Drive.
