Rossi's Future in MotoGP?
Rossi's reason for moving to Yamaha from Honda was the way he was treated. He is now on record saying he feels he is being unfairly treated by Yamaha with them signing Jorge for another year. allowing his information to be passed on. Also if Ben Spies "is" moving to the tech3 team next season. I have to assume its with a guarantee of a factory ride for 2011. Jerry Burgess says he will retire if and when Rossi quits. Rossi is still hunting wins for Ago's record. and will have to be racing 2011 to beat it. there is another record he might fancy a go at. world titles on 3 different bikes. so far unheard of.
what are the chances Valentino and Jerry move to Ducati if Stoner does not return ?
The challenge of taming the red beast thrown in.

I don't see Rossi leaving Yamaha right now ~ he is doing well with the Yamaha bike ~ I'm sure Stoner will return to Ducati ~ my main worry at the moment is ~ what will happen to James Toesland ~
Edit :-
Ben Spies is going to Yamaha ~

Hello Proc
I think Valentino Rossi is a bit upset at Yamaha, but not upset enough to leave the team any time soon. I guess his recent rant about Yamaha signing Lorenzo back, is just a signal to his bosses saying "be careful".
Yamaha wants Rossi to be remembered as a Yamaha rider, so for them the best scenario would be Valentino staying two more seasons and getting Ago´s record. During these years he could expect a tough challenge from his teammate (Lorenzo and perhaps Spies) so the fact that Yamaha offered "equal" treatment to Lorenzo, was not the best bit of news to Vale, specially as Jorge is benefiting of Valentinos ´bike development. Neither the fact that Spies was expected to switch to MotoGP in 2011, and the rumor mill now says 2010. This things can get in the way when looking for Agostini´s record.
As Ducati goes, they for sure want to be Champions again, but recently they failed at luring Pedrosa or Lorenzo, as their bike is not regarded as a one with Champion potential, so I reckon bringing Rossi would be very difficult... however...
...the most important factor I think will be what Valentino wants, and that, we know can change in the next few years, We now he wants to be Champion again, that he wants Ago´s record, but also know he loves the challenge. Ducati might get him, by offering him a great bike, on his own terms, JB included, good money, and an absolute number one status in the team to guarantee the most wins possible for him. Ducati is a small team and company (compared to others) but financially is not that small. Has quite a few good sponsors. I wouldn´t mind that experiment at all. I´m 100% possitive he can ride and win with the red beast.

Your right about the 3 different bikes. That might be a challange for him too !
Only him and Lawson did it the next year on 2 different bikes, so he might want to set another record.
As for leaving Yamaha ....... not yet.
Jorge has always had Rossi settings, just like Colin always did. It does seem to matter what setting's Vale use's other riders just cant seem to adapt them to thier own bikes.
With the talent of Lorenzo at the level he is, and Dani riding good at them moment, Casey [ to return ? ] then Vale might even have to race in 2012 to get the Ago result.
He will keep hunting it all day long, and like i said in that email a couple of weeks ago, he might even look at the Moto2 class as " easy picking's ".
Same engines, but with Jerry's help, it should be a walk over like 2003 and even 2008.
As for Rossi on the Ducati .....

..... nobody ever thought he would leave the all mighty RCV for the back of rubbish M1, but he did. He said he wanted a new challange.
Is the big red noisy bike his new challenge ? Time will tell.

[ this is a big question..! Rossi would be up for a move to Ducati I think, but i wonder how a genius like Jerry Burgess would fit in with the Ducati 'family' how much of a free hand so too speak would he be allowed.
It sounds like they're unhappy about information being handed along you have too wonder when you look at all the classes Yamaha are doing well in. WSB with Spies, BSB with Camier,Supersport with Crutchlow. and in World Endurance it makes me wonder how much of the overall success can be traced back to the Rossi/Burgess input..
Jerry says he will quit when Rossi does, then that's the main thing.. the move to Ducati has been discussed a bit recently but Vale and Jerry are shrewd men, and if they move it will be because they see it has the way too beat Ago's record...<^><..

Hello Proc and everyone,
One thing I'm sure: Rossi won't quit before he breaks Ago's record. He's too close heheh.
I still think Rossi has better chances of defending the championship if he stays at Yamaha. Moving to Ducati would probably cost him one year at least to put the bike like he wants to. But never say never. Although I hope Stoner returns not just temporarily :)

Hello Wiggysan, I only think this is possible if Valentino feels miserable during 2010 and I´m positive Masao Furosawa and team will do everything to prevent this fall. It won´t be easy since he offered Lorenzo equal terms, and he brought Ben Spies a year earlier than expected, but he has the whole 2010 season to charm Valentino and convince him to retire as a Yamaha rider. So perhaps Furosawa san will have to let go Lorenzo, or forget about Spies or give Valentino a much deserved number one rider status. He certainly does not want to be the one who let Rossi go elsewhere. To accomplish this he also needs a little push by their sponsors. edit.- Great links by the gorgeous racer. I was not aware what the Italian press has been saying. (Not that it´s the necessarily the truth, though) Perhaps that´s the reason for Yamaha to pursuit both Lorenzo and Spies. We´ll see....
