Can someone interpret my dream?

It was more of a nightmare actually.....

First thing I remember is that I was in a graveyard, I think it was one I've been to before but I don't remember where. I was lying down in all the plots without gravestones to see if there was a body already there- it was an old graveyard and a lot of markers were missing. If there was a body there, then it would scream and jump up, but go back down when I moved. There weren't any empty spots, so I went inside the church. There was a group of people there who were really creepy. They saw me and I started running. One of the people chasing me was my best friend, but she wasn't my friend in the dream. I ran into a room and shut the door. It was an old fashioned bedroom with a bed and windows with billowing curtains. My friend forced my way into my room and said that she had to gouge my eyes out. We fought and I wrestled the scissors from her. Then I stuck the scissors in her eye and she just stood there, not bleeding or struggling. I got the entire eye out and it fell on the floor. She picked it up and said she had to put it in her nose....

Then I forced myself to wake up because I couldn't do that to my best friend. At the end it was like I knew I was dreaming so I told myself to wake up.

A graveyard is where we "house" the dead, and in a dream it can stand for your past, your memories and fears especially forgotten ones. The markers being missing also point to forgotten memories, because you can't even put a name to the body there.

You lying down in the unmarked plots, aside from being creepy, tells me you are wondering about some of your past and whether you remember things correctly, possibly? If you found an old memory, it comes to the fore and scares you momentarily but you're able to contain things and put a lid back on it if you will, so you're possibly coming to grips with old memories or feelings.

Going inside a church has to do with your beliefs, often spiritual. The people you see there are creepy, so I think you may feel that a lot of people who profess religion aren't actually the good people they say they are. Just a thought.

They begin chasing you, and when something chases you it represents something you don't want to face, or a feeling of persecution. There is again an element of hypocrisy because your friend isn't your friend. You may feel there are people who pretend to be your friend but you can't trust them.

Running into your room represents retreating from the world, going into your own private thoughts and shutting others out.

The next part is pretty disturbing! Someone who claims to be your friend intrudes on your privacy and says she must gouge your eyes out. Of course your eyes are your ability to see, not just visually but in a dream they represent your ability to perceive and understand. So maybe your friend doesn't like when you see things as they are, and there have been some arguments about that.

You are able to not only protect yourself but you stick the scissors in her eye without a reaction. I think you are attacking her perceptions, her point of view, and you are a little horrified at your own violent reaction even though in real life I'm sure you haven't been violent, you may have been aggressive.

Just as you said on waking, you couldn't do that to your best friend. So I think you feel a bit of guilt over a disagreement over different perceptions. There is always the possibility that your friend represents not herself but an aspect of yourself.

So if any of that sounds accurate, please let me know.

To dream that you are at a graveyard, represents the discarded aspects of yourself. It is also a fear of the unknown. Alternative, it indicates a loss or a period of mourning. to dream that you are in a church, suggests that you are seeking for some spiritual enlightenment and guidance. You are looking to be uplifted in some way. Perhaps you have made some mistakes in the past which have set you back on your path toward your goals. With proper support, you will get on the right track again. Alternatively, it may also mean that you are questioning and debating your life path and where it is leading. You are reevaluating what you want to do.To dream that you stab someone, indicates your fear of betrayal and your untrusting nature. You may be too much on the defensive.

You are a bit weird. We are not considering a mere dream, are we? What you tell us sounds more like one hell of a nightmare. I would first suggest that you go to sleep about 2 to 4 hours after dinner time. Eat absolutely nothing during that interim. Please remember exotic foods like ice cream topped with sour pickles do not make for a good night's rest. As for the dream? Forget it. You seem to know that you are dreaming and wake yourself up anyway.
