Need name of Japanese TV drama series?
At least 10 years ago there was an excellent Japanese language (with English subtitles) TV series that stretched over a few months about a Japanese family that was in the tofu-making business, struggling in hard economic times. I loved the series and wanted to see if I could rent the videos from Netflix or some place, but I cannot remember the English or Japanese name of the series. Any ideas what it might have been? Thanks.
I looked up some details of Ichi Rittoru no Namida and that isn't it. The fault is mine for not supplying an adequate description, but my memory is faulty. The one I saw took place around early 20th century Japan, at least pre-WW2. Thanks for the helpful, interesting comments, though.

I am sorry to tell you that there are no legal copies with English subs. There are some fan subbed versions you can download from the internet but you should be careful downloading anything that may open you up to viruses.
It is a fantastic story though.
Sadly no Japanese drama's are legally sold with English subs. I wish that they did though I would be broke because I would want them all. ha ha ha
