Haha... I found your question by accident when I googled Jennette McCurdy.
Well, on page 217 of the October issue of Allure magazine it talks about how to create big, loose curls. This is what it says: Work hair throughout damp hair, let it air-dry, and then go around the head with a 3/4-inch iron, rolling the hair up. Switch to a one-inch barrel for the front sections. "You want bigger, looser curls in front to make it seem natural," says Murenu.
At the bottom of the page there are trade secrets:
* Hot Tools curling irons in one-inch, 3/4-inch, and 3/8-inch sizes. "These are ideal because they get quite hot, which helps set curls so they don't droop later." - Murenu
* John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Formula Serum
"For the shiniest curls or the smoothest blowout, I work a few drops of this serum through soaking-wet hair--because once hair begins to dry, frizz can start." - Murenu
* John Frieda Luxurious Volume Bountiful Body Mousse
"When I want volume, I always go for a mousse. For extra lift, apply a little on dry hair at the roots, then blow-dry with a round brush. The heat of the blow-dryer sinks the mousse into hair, so it's not crunchy." - Murenu
* Bumble and Bumble Sumowax
"To create just a hint of wave, I work a dab of this pomade through wet hair and let it air-dry. It keeps the hair from getting poufy." - Murenu
* Rene Furterer Finishing Spray
"If a spray is too dense and wet, it can weigh down curls. This one is a fine mist--it's the finishing step that holds curls and waves in place." - Murenu
Hope this helps. :)

her hair is obviously not straight nor really curly. she has loose curls and she just curls them a bit more to make them look fuller. i guess you just straighten your hair but not REALLY straight. then curl it loose then do it again a few hours later to make it look natural
