Does this mean I'm pathetic?

I was at a dance recently when this guy came up to 2 of my friends and said "I'm a nice guy really just give me a chance" they both ignored him. He then came up to me and said "If you give me 5 minutes of your time I'll buy you a drink and we can talk" I knew what he'd said to my other 2 friends because I was standing right there right with them. I thought it was pretty bad to try to pick up 3 girls who are right next to each other so i said "A word of advice don't sound desperate when you're trying to pick up girls."

He came closer to me and whispered

"Hey I know you're desperate" I was shocked I didn't know what to say so all I said was "How can you tell?" he said "I fucked many girls in my day and I can tell" He then got down on his knees and started begging me to let him buy me a drink or as many as I wanted any kind I wanted. He begged me for 5 minutes of my time so he could explain why he's a douche-bag.

Does this mean I really am desperate. I mean he sounds desperate to me and he thinks I am. What would you say?
