    25+x+x=5+3x+x

    2x-3x-x=5-25

    -2x=-20

    x=20/2

    x=10

    son is 10 years old and father is 35 years old.

    X = father age

    Y = son age

    (1) : X = Y + 25 (Mr. Reyes is 25 yrs. older than his son)

    (2) : X = 3Y + 5 (Mr. Reyes is 5 more than thrice as old as his son)

    doing (2) - (1) :

    X - X = 3Y - Y +5 - 25

    0 = 2Y -20

    Y = 10

    and X = Y + 25 = 35

    father is 35 years old

    Son is 10 years old

    You can make two equations between the ages of Father (F) and Son (S)

    F = S +25

    F = 3S +5

    S +25 = 3S + 5

    2S = 20

    S = 10

    F = 35

    say

    let us,mr.reyes's age s 'y'

    let us,his sonn's age s 'x'

    1)y=x+25: (as per ur que,)

    2)y=3x+5" (as per ur que,)

    (2) - (1):

    0=2x-20

    so,

    x=10:

    sub, x val in (1):

    y=25+10:

    y=35:

    so,

    Mr.reses's age s 35:

    his son's age s 10:

    hope i'm crct.

    nix
