My Yahoo Widgets are not updating, how do I fix this?
The widgets on my desktop (like the weather) only update if I click "Close Widget" then go to the dock and reopen the widget. Is it because I rarely actually shut off the computer I only put it to sleep at night, when not in use? Or is there some setting I need to adjust?

if this is a Constant problem and does not correct itself turning off widget and turning back on. do the Following:
Go to User (whatever you named computer or account your using) > Library > Preferences > Yahoo! Widget Engine, Open and look for .plist file with desired widget's name. Example: Yahoo! Weather.plist.
remove to Trash.
Now close widget. Empty Trash. Now reopen widget. Now re setup widget as desired.
If you have recently updated the widget in question first do get info on widget to see what version. Now open web Browser and type in Google window widget name followed by version number lower than than version you have. (I've had change to a version number older on two Stock Ticker Widgets.) Usually a site called brothers.com come up first.
Close widget and shutdown Yahoo! Widget Engine.
Go and get that widget. now locate that widget and option drag to Desktop (makes duplicate).
Go to following places and place original copy in folder removing the current version: Document > Widgets. In Username >Library > Application Support > Yahoo! Widget engine. Place the copy of downloaded widget in this Folder.
Go back to Username > Library > Preference > Yahoo! Widget Engine and remove the .plist file.
Throw in Trash and remove along with the remove widget parts.
Now restart Widget Engine. This time go to open Widget, from Widget Engine drop down menu, and locate the just installed Widget.
You will have to reset your preferences. You will always have choice of going back to new one if old version doesn't work but you will have to remove the traces of the old widget then the plist file and then update to new then open the new version

I have the same problem when I put my laptop into Standby or Hibernation mode. I do not use the dock option instead I have them arranged on my desktop so I can easily see them. But the solution I found to this problem is just to close out all Yahoo Widgets and then restart the whole thing. In your system tray by your clock you should see the icon for Yahoo Widgets. Right click it and choose Exit Yahoo Widgets. Now go to Start>>All Programs>>Yahoo Widgets>>Yahoo Widgets and start up Yahoo Widgets again.
To make this easier you can put a shortcut for Yahoo Widgets on your desktop or pin it to your start menu so you do not have to hunt for it in All Programs. Right click the shortcut All Programs and choose Pin to Start Menu or Send to Desktop (create a shortcut).

i'm experiencing the comparable situation. TSX has not as much as date for a minimum of three business enterprise days. whilst this got here approximately these days with Morning megastar they positioned an digital be conscious on their internet site to point the venture and status of having it up and dealing back. Yahoo - you may desire to let us know what's going on and once you estimate the venture would be resolved. Very troublesome.
