Can I write to the manufacturer of a gun I bought for a free manual?

I wrote to the maker of a pellet gun I bought second hand as a kid and they sent me a free user's manual. Will a fire-arm manufacturer (Taurus) do the same thing?

    you may find a manual on their site or something. Possibly.

    Lets put it this way: It can never hurt to try :P.

    But yeah... check their site first... they may have .PDF manual's.
