Both Tomato and Squash live only one summer. They die when the days start to get short and the weather starts to cool off. That is what is happening to your plants. Sorry.

Start planning for your garden next spring, when you can plant the seeds from the Tomato's and Squash you grew this summer. Save the seeds on a paper napkin, when they are dry store them in an envelope and plant them next spring.

Never store fresh tomatoes in the refrigerator. It will destroy the flavor and juicy texture. At the end of the season, green tomatoes can be picked before the first frost and left in a brown kraft bag to ripen in a cool area.
