If Felix Hernandez wins his next 2 starts and Greinke wins his next start, who do you think will win...?

the Cy Young Award?

If this happens, Hernandez will be 19-5 with an ERA in the mid 2's, Greinke will be 17-8 with an ERA around 2 possibly even 1.9's.

I know that CC Sabathia and Justin Verlander are in the running, but I think the Award is between the two of them, so if it does play out this way, who do you think will win?

Greinke has the AL Cy Young wrapped up. His ERA is a half run better than anyone else (Hernandez is 2nd place) and almost a run better than 3rd place (Halladay). He leads the league in SO, WHIP, BAA, LOB%, HR/9, HR and ERA+. He's 2nd in the league in K's, K/BB ratio, and CG.

His ERA in his losses and no decisions is 3.21. Look at it this way, Greinke has 210+ IP, 210+ Ks and a 210+ ERA+. Only 6 other pitchers in MLB history have ever had a season like that.

Hernandez will have at least 2 more wins, but Greinke plays for a far worse team and has the worst run support in the majors - even worse than Felix's horrendous support. Felix is 2nd, but it;s not a close 2nd because Greinke has him dominated in every way, shape and form.

I still think Greinke deserves it the absolute most. Everyone says he doesn't have enough wins, but that's ridiculous. The most important thing for the Cy Young award is ERA. Greinke is at 2.06 which is incredible, and like you said he could be down to the 1.90s after his next game. Hernandez would be my second choice but Zach Greinke should absolutely win the Cy Young this year.

I would say Greinke even though both players are on teams with losing records. I would take Greinke over Hernandez because he has more quality starts with a low era and a young team and Hernandez has more run support with a veteran team.

I love the Mariners, but I have to admit that Greinke deserves it.... although if Hernandez was chosen I wouldn't really argue it :P

Verlander and Sabathia absolutely do not deserve it in my opinion...

its gotta be greinke im a mariners fan and all but even felix said he would vote for zack

  • For me i say Greinke if it comes down to ERA. If it comes down to more wins it's going to be Sabathia especially if he gets a 2oth win.
