our freezer is thawing or going out, does that affect our refridgerater also? Thanks!?

freezer needs frion or is going out on us, it is 6 years old, will the food in the refridgerater go bad if not moved as well??? Thank you!

    Yes it will. A residential freezer compartment cools the refrigerator portion. It is not as closely coupled to the refrigerator contents as the interior of the freezer so it doesn't get as cold.

    Don't open the doors—and if you can—move the refrigerator someplace cool, like below 50 F (15 C) to slow its warming. If you don't foresee a repair in 24 hours or so, consider moving the most-likely-to-spoil items to another refrigerator (friend, relatives, neighbors) and/or ice chests filled with store-bought bags of ice.

    Or you could do what they did in Jurassic Park: eat it all quickly!

    I'm not sure- but if you do notice a temperature drop and don't want food spoiling, you can buy some dry ice to put in there with the food. 10 pounds lasts 24 hours. Good luck :)
