Is Joe Torre to blame for the Dodgers pitching problems?

Joe Torre was a catcher not a pitcher. MVP. And has a few World Series rings as a manager. Maybe you need to send your video to the Dodgers. They may give you his job. They are leading the West aren't they. Be happy.

The Dodgers just don't have an ace pitcher. Billingsley was thought to be one earlier this season, but he collapsed in the second half. Ned Colletti got Garland - who seems like he has 3 days, instead of 3 hours, to complete nine innings. And Jim Thome a joke? Garland should not stay with the Dodgers this season. Broxton is inconsistent, at best. The bull pen, as you've said, is overworked. Manny Ramirez is no longer juiced so he is out of the picture. What have the Dodgers left? I hate to say this but it will take miracles to get the Dodgers past the first round.

Blame the pitching coach and Torre.

It's not that he wouldn't "let" anyone pitch past the 6th...none of the pitchers except for Randy Wolf deserved to stay in the game that long. After that, it's well known that Torre will overuse his bull-pen but he managed to win several rings while doing it so it's hard to complain.

If anything it's Colletti's fault for using all that money for Manny instead of bringing in one more innings-eating pitcher like Garland during the off-season. But looking back, wouldn't you have killed him for not signing Manny?

Face it, this is a very young team in all the key areas. It can be argued that they played way over their heads during some stretches of the season....you have to expect them to even it out eventually. It's just happening at the worst time of year.

I don't really follow the dodgers but i find it hard to believe its all his fault considering the number of world series wins he led the yankees to, you can't be a bad manager of pitching while winning world series

no blame it on the young hitters and playing juan pierre as a bench player, put furcal as no 2 and play pierre as a regular play kemp 3rd in LF,check the won/lost with pierre in the lineup!

Vicente Padilla? Randy Wolf? These are not playoff-caliber pitchers. Also, they're too overhyped on the youngsters. They're good and will be good; they're just not aces yet.
