Because it's part of being a human being. Most women [[myself included]] needed to date an idiot before they could finally recognize what it is they REALLY want in a partner and appreciate a good guy when they get him.
It's kinda like how kids need to stick the fork in the wall socket. Everyone tells them not to, but they just have to learn on their own.
