Breaking news from Adelaide...?
Kurt Tippett is reported to be announcing his signing with Adelaide for an extended period - thereby putting him off limits to the gold coast!
I know I don't need to ask you, Crows supporters, how terrific this news item is!
My question: do you think the GC team will be successful with ANY of their targeting? Who can you see going up there? Personally, I would have thought Tippett would be the favourite - as this is his home. Do you think they are dreaming when they say they want the likes of Ablett, Riewoldt, Brown?
I hope they get no-one and finish 2011 with a win/loss of 2-20-0 and a percentage of 30%
(the two wins would come against Port, of course)
Uh Icon... did you read what this question actually said. The point is Tippett is NOT going (provided the news that he signs tonight is true).
And the Crows were the first to say they didnt want Fev. Port, however, may - Tredrea is getting old, and Westoff is a hack.
Crows-91 - they're supposedly announcing it tonight at the Best and Fairest. Fingers crossed.
Real Enforcer - I think you misunderstand Port's financial woes. Regardless of how poor any club is, they all have enough money to pay up to 100% of the salary cap; the AFL makes sure of it. And with Burgoyne(s) and Lade leaving, Port actually has lots of room in the salary cap.

well its damn good news for the Crows then! him and Walker (provided theyve got the smarts to not trade him and not screw him around like they did Jericho and Gill) will be 2 hey parts of a very powerful forward line in the future
as far as Gold Coast and theyre targetting, undoubtedly they will be successful in some of there attempts, i cant say about Ablett (tho i think its unlikely, mainly cos of his father, if you referring to Jonathon Brown, then yes! theyre Dreamin! dont think youll EVER see Brown play for anyone but the Lions, and Riewoldt? aside from the fact the he went within a hair width of winning a Premiership this year (and the fact the the GC will NEVER get near one in his playing career) and you play footy to win flags, theres the fact that hes contracted to us for the next 2 or 3 years (i cant remember which), he signed the extension earlier this year, but there will definately be some players that take theyre money
as far as Fev goes, i know hes got off field troubles, but wherever he goes hes gonna bring on field success, personally, as a Saints supporter, i wouldnt mind seeing him with the Saints next season, Riewodlt, Kosi and Fev! Try stopping that lot!! i think any club that doesnt take a good look at him is friggin mad! lol

That's great news for Adelaide fans, Tippett is almost ready to step into the elite forward/ruckmen position, he will only get better and better, no wonder why the GC were chasing him. They offered Ablett 1.2 million dollars, that's ALOT of money for football especially, but even so I don't think he will join. They won't sign Ablett, Riewoldt or Brown but I have a feeling that some good player that wants personal glory and wants to be the stand-out player in a losing-team might join like Buddy Franklin.

Ablett already said that he wants to be a 1 club player and I would expect the same from Brown. Riewoldt won't go because there so close to winning the premiership there is no reason to leave.. They are likely to just pick up all the big names in the draft next year which won't be anyone really good just average players.

Great news now to extend Danger's contract.
Port won't get Fevola they wouldn't be able to afford him.
I'm starting to think they might target second tier players from strong clubs or recruit some mature age players from the state leagues.
It doesn't matter any way Port have said no to trading to get Fevola.
Apparently they want Shaun Hampson or Mark Jamar to cover for the loss of Lade.
Its true a 3 year deal.
Got any more good Crows rumors.

Tippett signed for 3 years. Vince won the best and fairest. All is well
in Adelaide. Answer me this. If Tredrea won Power best and fairest could their season have got any worst.

It'll be interesting to see what Ablett does I know he's Geelong through and through but with that kind of money on the tabel it will set someone up for life.
Great news for the Crows, he's a player that they can build a great forward line around

Man this will make me so relieved if this is true! When do you think they will announce it?
The Gold Coast will be starting to get worried now I think, they've been rejected by quite a few big names now. There's no way Ablett will leave Geelong because he loves the club to much. They need to get someone decent though to help with the crowds in there first few years.

I have a feeling the Gold Coast will not secure any "Daniel Kerr" or "Gary Ablett" like players, all the clubs are signing on their remaining players and to hear this is great news for Adelaide! In a way, the AFL is ganging up on Gold Coast to not let them snatch any of their guns. I can see GC making the finals in their 3rd year in the league.

neil craig would probably leave if tippet and dangerfield had of not re signed. its not so much about the gold coast you know. what about the train that is following behind that one. western sydney. 12 months is not a long time in football. and none of you are talking about that team yet.

They wont get Riewoldt he signed with the saints for 5 years
