Which Is More Reliable? 2004 Saab 9-3 or 2004 Honda Accord?

I know that both the 9-3 and Accord had a lot more issues during the 2003 model year because of model redesigns. I'm hoping that by 2004 the Accord's transmission problems and the 9-3's soft wear problems were worked out. This is what I'm looking at:

2004 Honda Accord LX 4-Door, 4-Cyl, 5-spd, 131k miles for $6495

2004 Saab 9-3 Linear 4-Cyl, 5-spd, 97k miles for $6999.

I need a reliable, long lasting car thats good in snow and is also safe. So which would be better?

The Honda Accord. Also, the 4cylinder accord did not really have transmission problems. It was the v6 version that had most the problems.

The Honda Accord is a more reliable car than the SAAB. Parts are also easier to get if you have any problem at all. Also consider a Toyota Camry or Corolla. Hope this will help you out.

Stay away from the Kia's and Hyundai's, they wont hold their value, are not known to be extremely reliable, and parts are often difficult to find. I would opt for one of the Hondas or the Altima, except that the mileage is a little high. The Eclipse is a good buy, its reliable with low mileage and argueably the best looking of the group, and the only one that could be considered a ''sports'' car. It will hold its value reasonably well too, especially if you dont put too many miles on it. Good for 3-4 years.

The Honda is better. Saabs are European cars and European cars have a reputation for being far more expensive to maintain.

Out of the two, I would get the Saab. The accord has way too much mileage.

Honda is a good reliable brand. Go with the Honda
