why has my laptop recently been saying "connected with limited activity"?
Within the past week or so, my laptop cant pick up my wifi signal. My desktop works really fast, as well as the connection on my Xbox, neither of which are actually wireless. when i direct connect my laptop, its fast of coarse, but when i go upstairs, my laptop says i'm "connected with limited activity" and i'm unable to do anything that requires connection. That and it still reads my connection as 8.5 / 10. I don't really know what the problem is, or if i have to do some port forwarding stuff. any info would be helpfull. Ill update this though if needed or requested. Any help would be much appreciated :)

pls check settings of your WiFi. this generaly happens when windows is unable to get proper IP address from router. recall what was the settings of WiFi card on your laptop before the problem. whether IP address was assigned or was set to automatic. further all check that signals you are getting are from your router or someone else.
other is provide static IP with gateway as IP address of your router. then check whether you can enter into setup mode of your router from the laptop. if not then try to scan laptop for virus. if no problem, reset router to factory settings and setup the network again.

Is there a WEP/WPA/WPA2 or any other type of security code for your wireless connection? If so, double check you put it in correctly. When a computer tries to connect to a secure network without the proper code, it will get a limited or no connectivity error. That's the only thing I can think of... you could try reseting your router if that doesn't help.

check your network settings, its saying limited use because your IP/TCP settings are in different ranges
