Serious question: Would you support a government of slavery?

I hope no one thinks this is racist, I assure you that I am only trying to get people to think and I believe we should be together regardless of color or creed.

Back when there was slavery in our country, the master made sure that the slaves were taken care of with housing, food, health care and the slaves provided labor.

Why are we now looking for a new master in the government? The democrats tried to get all Americans housing which has brought the U.S. economy a crippling blow. Government health care is on the way which will cripple the medical industry insuring only that our doctors will not be well paid anymore.

The only thing left is jobs. When large corporations continue to fail and lay off employees, industry completely drys up, farming lands are ruined, stores no longer receive goods, services can no longer be afforded.

This will be the last straw to break that which holds America together, the land of the free and land of liberty to a new master that will enslave the entire population, not out of desire but out of necessity. The government will assign the wages if any, assign the jobs, assign the housing (free, but no ownership anywhere), and decides who will get health care if there is any available.

I do believe that Republicans are fighting for our liberty against this terrible disaster right now in Congress resisting a government take over of health care.

People of all color and creed, do not think that it is better to have a government to take care of you.

Please consider the possibility I have laid out for you that you could be putting all of us, not just the rich or poor, black or white, republican or democrat, all of us in chains to work for the government at their bidding. I remember stories that were told about the slave days that there were good masters and bad masters. The government can be the same. Good on some days, bad on others. I seriously doubt we will be going to any courts to have the judge listen to our pleas.

Please consider standing with the Tea Party's or any other organization that against a government take over of our lives. All of our lives.

If there is to be a future civil war, this will be what the fighting will be for. Not to free the slaves, but from becoming a slave.

Be sure to vote out any one who is for government control of your life in 2010. Even more so in 2012.

God bless you all.

You put that very well. I do think you are exaggerating a little but not much. Its something I've believed has been coming for some years and only gets worse with each new administration. I think this administration is the one that is really going to destroy the last of our freedoms and ability to resist.

Since I consider those who've made careers out of living off the government i.e. generations on welfare, I consider that to be modern day slavery with the exception of when we had slaves, we at least got some productivity out of them and today there are no racial boundaries to slavery. So no, I do not support it. As a Republican I am against slavery and I strive for equality for every one.

The Government did it with the Indians and the Black man and now every man including the White man, i think i am seeing a pattern here, the Government has always wanted to keep the Black and White man fighting for one reason only, because separate we are weak but together we are a mighty force. Obama and Bush are paid by the same person and that person is ruling our country, whoever he is.God Bless You All.

Imperfect metaphor but great sentiment. The reason the metaphor doesn't work is that slaves were not happy being slaves and wanted to be free. With the government we're forming now, the people will be perfectly happy being slaves.

It's less "1984" and more "Brave New World".

I suggest that anyone who wroite this:

Back when there was slavery in our country, the master made sure that the slaves were taken care of with housing, food, health care and the slaves provided labor.

is living in fairy-tale land, as well as not noticing a few truths about equality and opportunity.

Unfortunately, it's not a hypothetical. The government enslaves many people today - some by oppressive taxation, others by the "narcotic effects" (as FDR called it) of welfare payments.

I oppose slavery. It's the "progressives" that support people being subservient to the state.

First your question is racist. The master as you call him killed, raped and even shared his evil ways with his friends who couldnt afford slaves.I have lived in the south all my life , in Mississippi at that and i am and always have been against slavery. The dems have secured health care for the elderly (medicare) which the republicans tried to stop just as they are trying to stop the public opp.( which they wont and cant). The republicans view to the elderly is very simple, you have nothing to give to the country any longer so there for you are a drain on the economy.they would much rather they die.So before you go crying slavery , think about the elderly you have in your family, if it wasnt for the dems (medicare) would they be alive today.I give you the benefit of a doubt thinking you did not intend for a racist question , but it is without question a racist question.

Slaves? What is the number of the case that you filed pursuant to the constitution's amendment on this issue? I'd like to read your legal arguments rather than you right wing propaganda.

Advocating a civil war is very anti-constitutional since the constitution does provide you a mean to address your grievances.

    Radicals.

Considering over half my earned income is going to some form of taxation I would posit that I am already a slave.
