Just finished watching countdown to doomsday ...?

okay so i just got finished watching countdown to doomsday, and for you guys that never seen it it a documentary about 10 possible scenarios that could bring an end to all life on earth pretty much.

So i was wondering what scenario you think would probably be most like to happen ? So hers the list...

1. A super Volcano erupting

2. Asteroid Impact

3. A giant Solar Flare

4. Nuclear Terrorism

5. Global Warming

6. Gamma-Ray Burst

7. Machine Rebellion (meaning an artificially created life form takes over the naturally evolved beings that created them for EX. Robots)

8. Alien Invasion

9. A global pandemic (h5n1; bird flu)

10.Mass Extinction

Okay well i think that after watching that ... that global warming, and maybe a solar flare would cause human extinction... but i pretty much believe that humans will cause our own extinctions. Which is pretty shameful. well what do you guys think ?

Okay to be honest, I agree with you.

I think by the time Global warming will hit us, we would have all already killed each other or at least most of the human race.

    But I'd really love to see the Alien Invasion (;

I don't know...I prefer not to think about it...I usually freak out and panic like crazy.

    1. A super Volcano erupting- I don't think there are any 'super' volcanoes.

    2. Asteroid Impact- Nah. It would have to be HUGE to kill us. Usually the pressure of the asteroid would burst into flames and break apart.

    3. A giant Solar Flare- Highly unlikely.

    4. Nuclear Terrorism- They say they will...but they won't.

    5. Global Warming- Most likely. But that will probably happen in a few hundred years or so.

    6. Gamma-Ray Burst- Very unlikely.

    7. Machine Rebellion (meaning an artificially created life form takes over the naturally evolved beings that created them for EX. Robots)- Nope. I don't think that will happen. It's not like machines have feelings.

    8. Alien Invasion- They would have by now.

    9. A global pandemic (h5n1; bird flu)- That will only take out a few races. So, that probably won't kill us all.

    10. Mass Extinction- Possibly.

I'm only thinking of the best case scenario. I get freaked out easily. Thanks...

But, now I wanna watch it!

I wouldn't think on it too hard.

And in 2012 it's a solar storm, and the worst thing that could happen is our computers would be knocked out for a while.... And the pandemic isn't gonna get that bad, and Global Warming is gonna be HARD to solve, but humans have ALWAYS had big problems. And they would know WHEN the volcano erupted so at least we'd have a warning. And about the robots...that won't be happening for a while.

But thinking about it all the time is unhealthy.

    Not to say you do.

    Just saying.

I've never seen the documentary, but I think that global warming seems most likely - it would lead to mass extinction. Nuclear terrorism or nuclear warfare also sadly seems like a possibility the way the world is at the moment. I agree with you though - humans will cause their own extinction.

Hah! There's *always* a countdown to doomsday, sometime, somewhere, and there has been for as long as humanity has had the concept of doomsday! Someone always believes that they know when that'll be, but it's always imminent, and it's usually a Christian who is saying so. Nothing new there. Whose countdown is this one, and how are they arriving at it?

2 will probably be the most likely, or solar flare. global warming is a hoax, and a global pandemic is made to scare people by the media, mass extinction will not happen unless it is some kind of a ice age. the rest will never happen. anyways, the next "doomsday" is 2012, and nutty people think it is happening...it isnt.

    2

    3

    or 9

I don't believe that one volcano can wipe out all of humanity.

I don't think the terrorism will happen (empty threats),

I don't believe in global warming.

I don't have a lot of knowledge on Gamma-Rays, so I can't comment on that.

I don't think Machines will rebel (seems to Futurama to me).

I don't think that aliens (if they exist) would attack us.

Would all of the above possibly lead to mass extinction...?

I don't want to sound like a Bible nut, but in Revelations some of those are listed. I think it's going to be a combination of a few of those that leads to mass extinction.
