How can I keep Bon Voyage for sims 2 from crashing on me?
Background info is that I had bought Bon Voyage several months ago and it worked fine on my Dell laptop that wasn't in the most newest of conditions. But when I discovered that my dad's new emachine computer allowed me to see my sim's houses without red flashing walls, I uninstalled my games from the laptop and re-installed them onto the emachine. All of them installed fine save for Bon Voyage. When I try and install it, it totally crashes before even finishing being installed. I have no hacks, custom content, or downloads on the emachine at all. I haven't downloaded the Bon Voyage patch either as I'm not really sure how to install it. So my main questions are could the problem be with the drivers on the emachine? Or something else? I didn't really check the specs over here to be honest as I had said the other expansions installed just fine. I have also looked into the log files and it mentioned something about audio errors and errors loading the oceans and tropical birds. So I'm thinking its something with audio and visual. But not fully sure. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
I have up to Apartment Life of the expansions and only Family Fun Stuff pack, which isn't installed. Also Apartment Life installed just fine, but it is only Bon Voyage that is highly crash friendly. The emachine is still under XP so not working with vista. But I will check the latest drivers.

You don't need to patch Bon Voyage if you have installed Apartment Life, as each new expansion patches previous ones.
I would really be surprised though if an Emachine meets the minimum game requirements. You will find the requirements here: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help...
If the graphics are unsupported, it's a waste of time updating the drivers.
If you don't know how to find the specs could you at least post the model number of the computer?

make sure you have the latest video drivers.
the game can get tempermental with vista, make sure you are running as an administrator.
and if you have any later expansions than bon voyage, launch that expansion to test it out.

have you ever been downloading custom content cloth fabric in to the pastime? because of the fact once I put in Bon Voyage i discussed the Insimentor hack in put in made my game crash alot, I got rid of the hack and now it fairly works severe high quality, so prehaps there's a downlaod or hack you have put in inflicting teh difficulty.
