Background:

I've been looking for a particular video game for the last few years and have recently come across it via Amazon. Brand spanking new, never opened and never played.

Problem is the seller is offering it for a lower price than most other places have it for. But it is still rather steep. So I figure at the very least I can try and negotiate a possible lower price with the seller. However. I have no clue as to how I should go about negotiating with them as I've never done it before.

On top of that, I am not really sure of any place I can go to do any research on the value of video games. So if any one knows any websites or anything like that I would be more than appreciative. I'd really like to add this game to my collection. But given the economy right now and tight funds, I doubt I'll be able to do so without proper negotiating help. Thanks again everyone.

I just wanted to ask and see what some general opinions would be on chaperoning an unfamiliar minor to movie that you aren't even sure she really wants to go to. More details is that this young girl(I'll guess around 9 or 11) and her family is part of this gardening team/company my parents hired to tend our yard during the summer. Now although the family has been coming by on the regular to work in the rock garden and do other landscaping duties and talking with my folks on every regular visit I have not. (As I have either been asleep, on the job hunt, or basically doing my own thing and letting them do theirs). So essentially I do not know these people or their kids (the landscaper and his wife have 2 other kids a older boy that is 14 or so and a middle son that looks like 10 or 12 maybe). I will add that I am not a snob and can't get to know them either or spare a kind word or funny remark to any of them. But as a rather shy person that does not really give a hoot about gardening and yard detail, I never really saw much need to approach them.

So even longer story short, the movie I had told my mom I had planned on seeing today would be The last air bender movie as I had prior to that seen the show and thought I would give myself a mini break from the job hunting and such to catch a simple movie by myself at our local theater. I had also mentioned to her this was my plan prior to the movies release date and she was fine with it. Now that it is said day of the movie release, she is suddenly concerned about me going to the movie by myself (although she has always told me before now to go and independently do things on my own. Which I have for the longest time without need of company or aid). And suggested to me last night that I invite the girl to go along with me. As she(my mother) had talked to the girl and she had apparently told her that she wished she had someone to talk to about things other than her own mom (the family recently moved from another state to my area and so they are still new in town). Again I see nothing wrong with sparing a few nice words with the girl and her family and even generously inviting her to see the movie with me. But the thing that really bugs me about this, is that when I don't know someone(of any age and not just kids as I can usually talk better with kids than most adults) I pretty much can not relax around them and don't open up all that well right away. And that could make this young girl decidely uncomfortable around me and make her tense. Which I did not want to deal with any tensions or stress of any kind today as this was to be a treat for myself. And yes I know I sound kind of self absorbed here in this post. But I have to be honest and say that when I am not looking for a job to pay off my debts, I am pretty much working around the house doing things for my parents more often than not and rarely have any alone time to hear myself think, let alone to see a movie by myself. Besides that I personally feel like a duck out of water in regards to spending the day with a child this much younger than myself. Not to sound like an age snob or anything but I am 23 and have long stopped thinking/being able to relate to a child in the age group I estimate this girl is in. So I really haven't a clue as to what to talk to her about too much as she hasn't started school here yet or even knows the area that well either; which only makes me feel more awkward if I mention places she has never even heard of. But yea, bottom line question here is it really all that petty to not want to invite/chaperone this child at the movies today? (Cause I know I personally sound/feel like I am whining about it. And I know this is not normally how I am, but still I hate having to make such accomadations that make me feel really awkward).

Ok, I just bought the Sims 2 Double Deluxe today as I wanted to install Celebration Stuff off of it. But for some odd reason when I have the cd in the drive, it keeps asking me to insert disk one. Which is really odd as it only came with one disk any way. And I was wondering if this is a common issue with this version of the game or what? I also bought Fun with Pets so I could install Mansion and Garden stuff off that and it worked fine in my computer, just like with all my other expansions and stuff packs. So I am not sure what is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated, although I'm leaning towards taking it back.

I have to write a HR Proposal in regards to creating a new position in a company of my choice and writing up a job description for a class project, due at the end of the term. But for this week I have to justify the financial aspects of creating the new job and the benefits to the company and how much it would cost the company to create it. I'm still doing research, but I was wondering if any business owners or employers out there knew how much it would typically cost to create a new position for that of a inventory control analyst or for a job with similar responsibilities. Ok first off my folks are "surprising" me with sims 3 for my bday present at the end of this month. So although I don't have a high performance computer to play it on, I know it will take a while before I will even be able to play it. So I have a few questions for those that have played and would love your feedback on a few things about it.

1. I read(some place or other on the net) that it is possible that in sims 3, a sim can have ghost babies/children. My question is do the same rules apply to ghost kids as to normal kids? Like do you have to feed ghost kids? Do they go to school? Can they be taken away by the social worker? Probably a silly question to ask but do they grow up ?

2. I have read the sims 3 forum and noticed that some people mentioned their sims gave birth to multiples (other than twins, like triplets). I was wondering if that is a natural occurrence or is there a mod out for that now? Is it also true that the toddlers crawl off the lot they live on? I read about this being fixed in one of the patches. But I was curious how often that has happened. Because to be honest I don't always download the patches to the sims games as I'm unsure how to install them and I have read some of the patches cancel out normal game play experiences at times too or "fixes" them out of the game. So I never really installed them. And I have rarely had any of the problems that were fixed by the patches for sims 2. So I was hoping to keep that streak with sims 3.

3. I have read a little bit about collecting gems and special recipe books and gardening and such in Sims 3. Is the sims 3 basically a cumulative version of the sims 2 expansions? Cause I think I read about sims can jog and fish and as I recall from sims 2 that was all separated into different expansions. As for the collecting gems and making ambrosia is that the new supernatural features of sims 3 or is it just the ghosts that are supernatural now?

4. I have read a little bit about the story progression that comes with sims 3. But is it true that one of the active households totally disappear after you have another household active as well? Like say for instance a couple's daughter moves out and I wanted to make her house a active/selectable household, would her parent's house vanish? Also I had read on the forums that in 3 that when a kid moves out its not the same as in sims 2 because there is no longer a sim bin for them to move into. So where exactly do they go when they move out? And will they be playable again? Cause I usually make alot of families and what not and I tend to like to know what each member of the family is doing in their active household. I would hate to have my first sim 3 couple have their first kid only to have it move out and be lost.

5. I have also heard that in sims 3, you can take the urn of a loved one to some special lab that can bring them back to life or make the ghost selectable. Are these two different labs? The same one ? And do you have options as to whether you can bring the sim back to life or just make him a selectable ghost?

Now I'm thinking that I have to write this out in exponential form at first. But I'm not so sure because of the variable at the top. Also would I go about simplifying this problem as if it was just a ordinary 1 in the numerator since the a has an imaginary 1 in front of it anyway. Or is there another way to solve when there are variables in the numerator?

Original problem: The height h(in feet) of an object that is dropped from the height of s feet is given by the formula h= s -16t^2, where t is the time the object has been falling. A 5 foot tall woman on a sidewalk looks directly overhead and sees a window was her drop a both from the 5 story (literally what the problem says). How long does she have to get out of the way? Round to the nearest tenth. (A story is 12 feet). Choose the answer from the following:

1.9 sec

2.4 sec

2.0 sec

2.1 sec

I was told by a math tutor to multiply the 5 feet by 12 feet to get the number of stories. And then subtract by the 5 feet to get the actual number of feet and plug it into the formula h = 60 - 16t^2. But when I do that, I don't get any of the answers. So I am very confused where to proceed from here. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Original Problem: 8/3 a^2 = 1 - 10/3a

The example from the book demonstrates on a problem like this x= 6/5 - 6/5x^2 and they show how you have to factor the 5 out and all that to get rid of the fractions. And then set the equation to 0 and then factor it out to find the 2 end answers of x. But my problem is when I go and try and do the same thing for the original problem, I am having trouble with that 1 after the equal sign and before the - 10/3 a. I'm not sure if I set that over too or what?

This is the work I have so far, which is likely incorrect, but I tried to follow the example as closely as I could:

3(a) = 3 (8/3a = possibly 1/3 - 10/3 a)

3(a) = 3 times 8/3a = 3 times 1/3 - 3 times 10/3

3a = 3 times 8a = 1/3 - 10a

After that I am rather confused and not even sure if I have the previous part of things going the right way. So any help on this would be great. Thanks.

I was looking up a site where I could see a show I missed last week on my computer. And I guess I picked up a trojan virus called Generic.14 BPK some place. I have AVG free and have put the virus in the vault but there is a red circle with a white x in the middle of it, that keeps flashing that my computer is infected. So long story short is there some way to get rid of this virus?

Computer info: It's a emachine AMD Atholn (tm) Processor 2650e

1.61 GHZ, 896 MB of RAM, and it is has a OS that works with XP.

What I factored out: x^2 (x + 3) + 2(x - 9)

Then I got this: (x- 9) (x +3)

Which again I don't think I factored out all the way or maybe I did. So again any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

This is the problem: x^5y^3 – 9x^4y^2 + 20x^3y

This is the work I have so far: = xy(x^4y^2 - 9x^3y + 20x^2)

x^5y^3 – 9x^4y^2 + 20x^3y

= xy(x^4y^2 – 9x^3y + 20x^2)

= xy[x^2(x^2 – 9x^2y) – 20x(x – y)

After this stage I'm confused and not even sure if I have done the work correctly so far or not. So if anyone could help me out with this particular problem, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Background info is that I had bought Bon Voyage several months ago and it worked fine on my Dell laptop that wasn't in the most newest of conditions. But when I discovered that my dad's new emachine computer allowed me to see my sim's houses without red flashing walls, I uninstalled my games from the laptop and re-installed them onto the emachine. All of them installed fine save for Bon Voyage. When I try and install it, it totally crashes before even finishing being installed. I have no hacks, custom content, or downloads on the emachine at all. I haven't downloaded the Bon Voyage patch either as I'm not really sure how to install it. So my main questions are could the problem be with the drivers on the emachine? Or something else? I didn't really check the specs over here to be honest as I had said the other expansions installed just fine. I have also looked into the log files and it mentioned something about audio errors and errors loading the oceans and tropical birds. So I'm thinking its something with audio and visual. But not fully sure. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I have two project problems I definitely do not understand how to do. I had a classmate try and help me with the second math problem. But I still do not understand what to do. So if anyone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated.

My classmate tried to help me with the second problem and said that it is like a FOIL problem. But I don't see how or where. Cause when I go to multiply this problem out I got x^6 +x^3 +7, but my classmate said she got a longer answer. So if anyone could make sense out of these two problems for me that would be great. I just had a nice time talking with my uncle, his gf, and cousin that stoppped over for Thanksgiving today. And everyone was getting along pretty well. Even my mom that isn't really for interracial dating, as my uncle's gf is white. But after they left the real trouble started, when my cousin used our computer and brought up a MySpace page for me and my mom to look at. My dad saw it too when he was coming to get something to drink. And low and behold it was of my newly turned 12 year old second cousin, posing on there as a 14 year old girl living in some place that she doesn't and having added older people that posted nude pics, and even have her nickname as MissFlamedUp. Now I'm not all that affiliated with gangs or anything, but my cousin told my mom that there used to be pics up of our second cousin in red and the Flamed up nickname was a code for the Bloods gang, that some of the second cousin's father's side of the family might be into. More background is that for years everyone in the family has known my aunt negatively influenced my second cousin for quite some time ever since she was a baby. And the second cousin's mom even says she hates her(that is due to the father no longer wanting to be with her). But still there has been quite a bit of negativity going on for some time around this girl and I'm personally sick of it. I know its not my place as a cousin to get into that side of the family's business. But I don't really know what to do or to say anymore and I just don't want to see this young kid hurt. Does anyone have any ideas or clues as to how to start a family intervention with the aunt and the girl's mother and even the child herself? Because this behavior has gotten especially dangerous now. I mean the girl lies, and steals, even fights back with my aunt, alot of it physically now. And the whole gang deal is not helping matters. So please anyone have any ideas what I can do? I mean my own mom says I should leave it to God, but I don't think I can anymore.

This is a pretty general question and so I will put it out there to everyone. Do people find it more important to be more social as in dating around alot in your 20's or is it more important to figure out who you are and what you want out of life before dating someone?

The reason I ask this is because a chick on another message board (having so much luck with these, lol) talked about avoiding dating altogether as she was a virgin and kept coming across bad guys and what not. I agreed with her, then I get this tirade back and forth with this older male poster saying that I can get to know myself if I was out dating more and that the fact that I'm avoiding dating can cause serious social interactions with people down the road if I keep putting it off.

Now for me personally, I know that I want to finish college first, move out of my parents house, have my own place and stuff like that before dating anyone, because for one I would like to talk to a professional about some of my trust issues and get past them. And I would also like to have my head on straight enough so that I'm not like most of my friends or family just going after any guy and wind up with kids and in a situation I don't wish to be in. But the dude kept at it like I was just out of my mind for wanting to do things this way.

I mean he was going into all these things about "just knowing" his wife was the one for him and that he was human and made mistakes but he got out there. Again have nothing against him or getting out to date some people. But seriously I know how my life is not in the best place right now, and as I do live with my parents, I think its more important to show RESPECT for THEIR house and not have guys calling all night or hanging around all day. Not only that but I feel that clearing one hurdle (college for now) is definitely a bit more important for me right now, so I wouldn't have to be so stressed about passing my grades and handling confusing emotions with someone right now.

So I throw it out to yahoo answers folks, do you think or find that being more socialable/dating in your 20's is of greater importance than figuring out who you are as a person or vice versa? Let me know.

I have to do a project on Meriwell Bag company and one of the questions is asking for me to develop and justify a forecasting method for the companies specifications. From what I read of their specifications which include a desire for stability as that is what their company and customer base has been, want to track the number of bags sold during the holidays so there is a seasonal factor here, anticipate future growth of customers and they want a method that works with their aggregated demand. I read back in my textbook over several types of forecasting methods and fond the time-series method, however my book only goes as far as to show and talk about the decomposition of time-series data over time. So I was wondering if anyone had a clue as how to go about making a chart or something for the times-series method. I'm sure I can justify why this method is the best. I just need to know how to make the chart or whatever is required to develop it. I did email my teacher, but no answer yet.

I was talking about this with a friend of mind the other day and she was saying its anytime when you put a friend or someone above that of your spouse. Like sharing marital problems and stuff like that to the friend before the spouse and depending on the friend more than the spouse. And when the spouse hides the relationship from their partner and isn't up front about telling their partner about the other person.

I was saying that it meant that, the spouse/bf/gf was sharing hard times with the friend or other person all the time, like if their baby were to die or they lost their job, and they are seeking comfort in that other person and it turns physical. But to me, telling your spouse/bf/gf about each person you have a friendship with is kind of putting more importance than the typical friendship is worth. I mean if you just have an acquaintance that you rarely see but they email you every so often I see nothing to mention.

So was just curious how others definded this term.

I ran across this question on the web, and was wondering how many people would actually do something like this.

I'm a virgin myself and have be abstaining for quite some time, and it wouldn't be too much of a problem for me, especially if it was with someone I have waited to be with for so long. I read a few of the responses other people had put to this question and many said they wouldn't be able to do it, because some use sex as a stress reliever. Me personally, even as nice as sex could be, I think I would be too stressed out to even orgasm and feel like I would be wasting my time I could be doing other things for the wedding, while I'm getting it on, lol. So what does everyone else think? To abstain to make it special on the wedding night or not?

The reason I ask this is because, the few boards I have been to and seen in passing where, SOME if not MOST CFBCer's don't see my choice of not having kids now as commendable at all. They just see me as a "pre-parent". Which I find pretty presumptious on anyone's part. Because I have never said one day my purpose is to have kids. I may want them but I could change my mind down the road, and I don't feel a "oh" would suffice for me not doing what they thought I would do in the first place.

That doesn't really make me mad. But what does make me mad is they want everyone else to accept their choice in the "child-centric" society today and let them have their choice. But they won't acknowledge younger or even some older people that think about having kids and choose to wait til they are more secure financially or whatever.

I have also noticed from the few sites I have come across on the web, they have given people without kids that want them the old term of being childless.
