Transit through UK. US Visa Valid. Do I need a UK Visa?

I am traveling to India through Heathrow airport. Have a connection there. I have a valid US Visa. Not a US Citizen. Do I need to get a UK Visa?

The Layover is less than or equal to 14 Hours. I won't even be exiting the airport. Only people who know about this kinda stuff. And please try to corroborate your answer with some form of link. Danke.

No, you don't need a Transit Visa for the United Kingdom, if you arrive on a flight from the United States and continue within 24 hours.

Scroll down on the attached link and read para b. and c. of the "Passengers exempt from the DATV requirement".

    http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/doineedvisa/visadatvn... ..

Edit: I know the UKBA website which states the transit visa requirements without considering the visa exemptions.

A Transit visa is required for somebody who stays within the country for up to 48 hours; for example arrives at an airport in Scotland and then travels by train through the country in order to get to Dover to reach a ferry for France. In your particular case a visa is not required as I have already stated in my answer.

No. You will remain in the transit area at Heathrow so technically you do not enter the UK.
